Find your season. Go onward.

Seasonward is an independent travel discovery project built around a simple question: where could you go for the weather you enjoy?

Choose your dates and preferred temperatures, explore the world map, and compare places. The weather is a starting point for a trip, alongside the experiences, budget and practicalities that matter to you.

Where our weather information comes from

We use historical climate averages, primarily the Climatic Research Unit’s global grid, with local station data for a limited set of destinations. The reference period is 1991–2020. Monthly values are interpolated across your selected dates using the same calculations in our map and guides.

These are typical conditions, not forecasts. The global grid represents regions roughly 55 km north–south; mountains, coasts and neighborhoods can differ substantially. The source details are linked alongside estimates and in each guide.

What the score tells you

Weather fit compares daytime temperatures and rainfall with your preferences. An optional overnight minimum also lowers the score where nights are too cold. A high score means a closer fit to those settings, not a promise of sunshine or a judgment of how enjoyable a destination will be.

Wind, humidity, cloud cover, water temperature and conditions on individual days are outside the score.

How we make our guides

Our monthly guides combine calculated climate comparisons with short destination descriptions drawn from linked tourism and heritage sources. Each month lets you personalize recommendations from our curated destination list; separate illustrated stories provide travel ideas across different climates.

We use AI assistance for development and drafting. Climate claims are checked against our data, and destination descriptions against the cited sources. These are researched planning guides, not accounts of firsthand visits. A guide’s updated date reflects a substantive review or change, rather than automatically changing each day.

Booking links and independence

Seasonward is free to use. Links to stays on Booking.com and activities on Viator are affiliate links, which may earn us a commission on eligible bookings. Commissions do not influence our weather scores or destination selections.
